Social services offer support in a variety of ways depending on the needs of the individuals involved. This could be direct support or support designed to help family members better manage the challenges faced.

Individuals with disabilities have the right help and assistance in their day to day activities, including practical support in the home. Family members of an individual with a disability may also be entitled to certain types of support.

Participating in planned activities and having somewhere to live can play an important role in helping people dealing with substance abuse and addiction to successfully complete their course of treatment. Other measures include helping to coordinate different healthcare and support measures or helping family members to deal with the situation and manage their relationship with the person facing substance abuse and addiction.
